What is Dance Movement Therapy?

Dance/movement therapy (DMT) is defined by the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) as the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual, for the purpose of improving health and well-being.

Dance movement therapy is for all ages.
You don't have to like to dance or know dancing to benefit from this therapeutic approach.
Being expressive with your body can be a freeing, beautiful experience. It can help you address emotional difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, and stress.
Emphasis is on - inhabiting the body and mind, listening to the body and mind and making peace with the body and mind.
